Service Overview

CPA provides access to molecular diagnostic services and consultation in infectious disease testing, genetics and inherited disorders, and oncology. CPA Pathologists provide Medical Directorship services for a number of molecular diagnostic labs. State of the art molecular technologies are utilized including RT-PCR, real-time PCR, sequencing, and FISH. Infectious disease testing includes viral load determinations for HIV, HCV, HBV, and CMV, sexually transmitted disease testing including HPV, chlamydia, and gonorrhea. Genotyping of HIV, including resistance analysis for RTI, NNRTI, PI and integrase inhibitors, is performed. HCV genotyping is also performed. Available molecular diagnostics also support Women’s health with evaluation of bacterial vaginosis, candidiasis, and trichomoniasis. Molecular genetic disorders tested for include Fragile X syndrome, cystic fibrosis, and hereditary hemochromatosis. Inherited thrombophilia testing includes factor V Leiden and prothrombin mutations and MTHFR analysis. Molecular oncologic studies include HER2 by FISH, JAK2 mutation analysis, and microsatellite instability by IHC.
