CLINICAL PATHOLOGY ASSOCIATES (CPA) JOINS THE FIGHT AGAINST PANCREATIC CANCER AT 2015 PURPLE STRIDE 5K RUN AND FAMILY FRIENDLY WALK, San Antonio, Texas, November 14, 2015.
Clinical Pathology Associates (CPA) is helping create awareness and raise funds in the fight against pancreatic cancer, the nation’s fourth leading cause of cancer death, by sponsoring Purple Stride 5k and Family Friendly Walk. Funds raised help provide personalized support for patients and support research grants and advocacy efforts to increase federal pancreatic cancer research funding.
2015 Purple Stride 5k Run and Family Friendly Walk will take place at 8:30 a.m. on November 14, 2015 at Retama Park. This community event is planned entirely by local volunteers and will pay tribute to loved ones who have succumbed to the disease, and honor those who are currently fighting pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is currently the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States and is anticipated to become the second leading cause by 2020. This year, more than 46,000 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and nearly 39,000 will die. There are no early detection tools and few effective treatment options. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is working to change the future of this disease.
