From expert pathologists to world-class laboratory equipment and procedures, Clinical Pathology Associates prioritizes clinical excellence coupled with responsiveness, accuracy, and timeliness. For more than 60 years, the CPA lab has provided state-of-the-art testing for physicians, outpatient clinics, surgery centers, and hospitals. The CPA lab is CLIA-certified and, recently, was accredited for the 13th time by the College of American Pathologists.

The accreditation signifies that the lab adheres to the strictest standards of quality control procedures, staff qualifications, and equipment specifications.

“This accreditation is a testament to the clinical quality and standards upheld by everyone at CPA,” said Matt Thompson, CEO, Clinical Pathology Associates. “Our lab professionals and pathologists are committed to maintaining the highest possible level of quality and safety standards to deliver fast and accurate diagnoses for our partners and their patients.”

During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors examine the laboratory’s records and quality control procedures for the preceding two years to ensure the highest standard of care. CAP inspectors also examine laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record, and overall management.

The U.S. federal government recognizes the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program, which began in the early 1960s, as equal-to or more-stringent-than the government’s own inspection program.

The College of American Pathologists is the world’s largest organization of board-certified pathologists and the leading provider of laboratory accreditation and proficiency testing programs, serving patients, pathologists, and the public by fostering and advocating excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine worldwide.
